what is svastha yoga?

Svastha means well-being. Svastha Yoga is practicing yoga in a way that each individual reaches his or her perfect state of well-being – without entering into the range of pain, by gently building range of motion and core stability.

These 20-minute session is inspired by Svastha Yoga for lower back. From breathing exercises to find balance and calm our mind, to gentle flows of postures, varying intensity to reach the different levels of muscles.

During the stay-home-times and all over Summer 2020 we practised yoga sequences designed to relieve back pain together with ladies from Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland, here are some of their testimonials.

Most of these participants have never done online yoga before. We are all discovering this new way of functioning together. It’s based on mutual trust. That’s why I never record the Zoom sessions or the participants. The videos showing my own practice are done with a separate camera.

The course has given a combination of energy, fun, relief, exercise, company, both physical and mental strength in these times of Corona confinement, but is suitable for everyday practice all the year round. Thanks a lot Miliza!

The asanas bring the tensed muscles both strength and relief. The breathing exercises open up the chest so the oxygen flows in the whole body. The relaxed atmosphere helps to be able to let go of the everyday stress surrounding us. It made me each morning to wake up and already be waiting for the yoga, like a child waits for Santa :).

MEET YOUR HOST

I started Yoga six years ago, long working days in an office and back pain being my daily companion. Yoga helped me to overcome my stiffness and find energy, on that time by Ashtanga classes twice a week.

Three years ago, I left the administration-business world, on the research of happy people around me, so I spent a season in tourism industry on Madeira island, Portugal. When I returned to Madeira the following year, it was for my Yoga Teacher Training in Integral Yoga and organizing, together with a friend, the first international Yoga Festival on Madeira!

ONLINE YOGA

When the confinement started I was in Slovenia, on my way to the upcoming April-retreat in Croatia. Useless to point out I never arrived to Croatia. I was very lucky to stay in a big house with a garden, giving me freedom and inspiration to combine my online yoga experience with the teachings of Svastha Yoga for lower back.

Slovenia Retreats

I’m happy to discover the beauties of Slovenian landscape and its population and organizing retreats for summer 2020 at the lake of Bohinj in midst of the Julian Alps.

I’m born in Slovenia, lived in Switzerland, worked 10 years in Thailand, 2 seasons on Madeira island and am now a happy nomad – well I used to be. Life is changing for all of us, we are all living and planning a bit differently – more aware of the blessing to have what before was considered as being given: our freedom to move.

THAILAND RETREATS

In January 2020 my paths took me to my retreat Yoga & Relax in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which all participants left with incredible feelings of happiness and friendship.

The coming retreat in Chiang Mai takes place 24 – 30 October 2020 in the same peaceful and lush resort with owners taking care of every detail and a vegan and vegetarian cuisine being an experience of its own! Kru Nok, a very experienced yoga therapy teacher, leads the morning classes and Sri Annatta, teacher of Buddhist Monks, conferences about spirituality and meditation sessions.
